Sergeant Peggy Vassallo

Sergeant Peggy Vassallo was struck by a vehicle while rendering aid to another driver after being involved in an accident. Sergeant Vasallo served 15 years for Bellefontaine Neighbors and 13 years for St. Louis County Police. She is survived by her husband, son, and 2 grandchildren.
I would like to thank you for the very beautiful and spacious and comfortable suite at the Hotel Alexandria in Washington, DC for National Police Week 2016. Sergeant Iris Smith

Sergeant Iris Smith lost his life in a vehicle collision when the prisoner transport van he was driving collided with the back of a tractor trailer.
Sergeant Smith served 15 years. He is survived by his daughter.

Deputy Sheriff Brett Hawkins suffered a fatal heart attack following an emergency response. He had served with the Harrison County Sheriff‘s office for 3 years. He is survived by his wife, daughter, 3 sons, mother and 3 siblings.

Police Officer David Colley was responding to a call when his patrol car collided with a tractor trailer. Officer Colley served 2 years. He is survived by his wife and 1 year-old child, parents, siblings.
 
Trooper James Matthew Bava

Missouri State Highway Patrol

His patrol car was crashed into while he was initiating a traffic stop of a motorcycle.
Trooper Bava served for two years. He is survived by his parents, two bothers and three sister.
